Your adventure begins at Splash Time, located inside the Ocho Rios Bay Marina, where an exciting mix of land and sea experiences await. To be fare the price is abit extreme for '10' mins which isn't 10 mins at all. I think we were in the air for about 6-7 mins in total and it cost €40pp plus at the end they ask you if you wanna buy the video which then costs you another €25. But because you pay so much in the first place you'd expect at least a free picture or something. It was a very good experience all in all just wish it lasted longer.
Ok. So there are lots of companies offering this experience but we chose this outfit. We were two adults and four kids. There were no discounts for being a kid, so it was 6x 40 euro. We went with another family of four and a couple. So in all we had a total of five paragliding groups. Each group got a little under 8 minutes in the air and in all we were out for about an hour. So that hour long trip with 8 minutes paragliding made the company 480 euro. Good money for an hour's work. But it was when we returned to the marina that we were horrified when they said that the cost of the photos and video they shoot of you doing the activity would be an additional 80 euro!! The previous day we had kayaked and the company we went with also produced an edited drone video and photos for 20 euro. We passed on the opportunity to be fleeced further and left having enjoyed the brief experience but with the distinct feeling that we were paying a lot of cash for it. I don't know what other companies charge for the same experience but I strongly recommend you check with a number of operators before making a decision. I've been reminded to mention that during the trip there was banging music. That's fine. But the problem was it was all explicit and hard core lyrics in every song that left nothing to the imagination. It would have been irrelevant if it was a boatful of adults but there were young kids listening to this stuff. It was really inappropriate in the circumstances and the staff, who spoke perfect English, should know better than to put on this kind of music when kids are present....
